William Plumer Jacobs, III, is a retired business man who, with his wife Erna, lives in Clinton, S.C. Jacobs was born in Clinton and spent most of his life there; the exception was four years in the US Army during World War II and two years in New York as General Manager of America Lawn Tennis Magazine.

In 1972, in anticipation of his retirement years, he took up Art, specifically Watercolor. Then, remembering his college days when he gained a major in English, he began to write poetry. Although he edited a history of Laurens County, South Carolina and was advisor to other such efforts, this is his first book.
